Pirates was my first ever project in Unreal Engine 5, I've learnt a lot since then!
Pirates is an Asteroids-like game where you play as a pirate ship sailing the many-seas. Deep underwater lays the Kraken, using your trusty cannon you must destroy all it's tentacles before it can destroy your ship!
As part of this project I programmed an enemy spawner which randomly spawns tentacles around the map each round, ai that allows them to roam randomly, chase, and run away from the player. I also created islands that heal you, and turrets that aggro when you destroy an island.
As part of a University class, and my first project, I had a lot of help with the basic setup and mechanics of the game. However, all of the mechanics above were programmed entirely by me (and many, many Youtube videos...).
